Be More Successful by Having More Fun
Innovation: People who have fun are 43% more successful.
Desired Outcome: Have more fun. Be more successful. Help more people.
People who have fun are 43 percent more successful! The strategies that actually work are counterintuitive and might feel like cheating. But they’re based on studies conducted by a university researcher with hundreds of participants. You might not guess that having more fun, eliminating your secret rules, and choosing something to bomb intentionally works. But the data says otherwise. Imagine if your diet, guitar playing, or nonprofit organization was 43 percent more successful just by following a few simple principles. Don’t Respond to That Email and See What Happens
Innovation: Not letting your email inbox dictate your priorities.
Desired Outcome: Getting control over your calendar.
A few years ago, I stopped responding to certain emails. Emails that had been to me and someone else, emails that I was copied on and respond all emails. A funny thing happened. Nothing. No one followed up. No one noticed. So, I informally promoted a don’t respond strategy with my coworkers to do the same thing and for goodness sakes, do not send anymore of those kinds of emails. In fact, send as few emails as possible. Guess what happened. Nothing. Nothing except greater focus on the things that matter. Try it and let me know how it works! Email me. Haha.
