Weekly Briefing No. 25

401 Words | (1) Everything Communicates, (2) Create an Experience Worth Talking About, and (3) Listening to Podcasts for Innovation Stimulation.

Let Your Everyday Actions Speak Loudly

Innovation: Wrap your message in everything you do.

Desired Outcome: People know who you are by how you serve.

Do the actions of your church, ministry or Christian business speak for themselves? Are they making the statement you would like to send? If not, it may be time to stop, drop and roll. Stop and take inventory of the message you are sending hidden within your day to day activities. Drop anything you are doing that does not support your mission or core beliefs. Roll out your programs with new zeal and attention to your message. Remember, everything communicates!

Create an Experience Worth Talking About

Innovation: Build a memorable experience into every interaction you have with those you serve.

Desired Outcome: Show His love through meeting the real needs of people in a visceral way.

Wherever Jesus went, he created an experience for those He was serving. Do your offerings create an experience for those you serve? From your website to your digital products and in-person service, build experience into the interaction that touches the underlying emotions of those you serve. Not just the facts or the benefits they offer, but connecting in a way that people will need to tell others of you and your offerings. Do you know the people you serve that well? Do you know what their greatest needs are and can communicate it in a way that they know you know them deeply?

Listen to Podcasts for Innovation Stimulation

Innovation: Listen to podcasts for new ideas and perspectives.

Desired Outcome: To stay fresh and relevant in everything we do.

I am a huge podcast listener and like all other media I consume, I taste from a wide variety of subjects and opinions, Christian and secular. For a meaningful reflection on the issues of the day from Christian worldview, consider The Briefing with Albert Mohlar or The Reconnect with Carmen LaBerge. From a business perspective, I like HBR Ideacast from the Harvard Business Review. It is very secular but definitely worth listen to. More to come. What do you listen to?
