Weekly Briefing No. 17

349 Words | (1) Serving Beyond the Known, (2) #1 Free Christian Crowdfunding Website, and (3) Leveraging Your Direct Service Providers for Innovation.

Making Your Unknown Known (Even If Unknown)

Innovation: Look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are unseen.

Desired Outcome: To serve people beyond the obvious.

Future events, outcomes or situations that are impossible to predict, plan for or even to know where or when to look for them are called “Unknown Unknowns.” The idea of uncovering the Unknowns will take you to “Known Unknowns” which are recognized but poorly understood. But from Known Unknowns, you can start the innovation discovery process. So how do you start to uncover your Unknown Unknowns? Go to the point of engagement and ask short open ended questions and just listen.

Crowdfunding for Christians by Christians

Innovation: Free Christian Crowdfunding for Christians by Christians.

Desired Outcome: Supporting Christians in their Kingdom ventures.

As you may remember from our Weekly Briefing No. 5, Kingdom Crowdfunding is an innovation. Add free to the equation and you have Give Send Go, the #1 Free Christian Crowdfunding platform on the net. The basic concept of crowdfunding is to raise money and awareness for a cause or product creation from a large group of people. According to Co-Founder Heather Wilson, Give Send Go was created “for Christians by Christians” and that’s something worth supporting.

What Your Contractors, Vendors and Suppliers Know…and You Don’t

Innovation: Invite your direct service providers into your problem solving.

Desired Outcome: Finding new opportunities through new eyes.

Many times the people, products and services that help you accomplish your mission have a greater understanding of the needs of the people you serve than you do. Give your direct service providers a call and ask them an open ended question. Follow up their answers with another sincere question and repeat until you see rainbows and butterflies or they hang up on you because they have to get back to work.
